Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM: The ceramic thermal comfort floor

Healthy and comfortable living combined with energy efficiency continues to be a top priority for developers. With its ceramic thermal comfort floor Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM, Schlüter-Systems has created an efficient solution to accomplish these goals. At BAU, the Iserlohn-based company will display two new associated products. One allows for even lower assembly heights, while the other offers integrated impact sound insulation. Additionally, the company will introduce its BEKOTEC® CompetenceCenter as an innovative advisement concept for the ceramic thermal comfort floor at the tradeshow.

With BEKOTEC-EN 18 FTS 5, Schlüter-Systems is introducing an assembly for the ceramic thermal comfort floor that features an additional 5mm impact sound insulation. The studded screen panel is installed with floating methods on suitable, weight-bearing substrates with heating pipes attached in the required installation spacing between the undercut studs. The pipes of this assembly have a diameter of 12 mm, bringing the minimum assembly height including the impact sound insulation to 36 mm (not including the covering).

The bonded system Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-EN 12 FK makes the entire assembly of the ceramic thermal comfort floor even thinner. It can be used to achieve assembly heights of just 25mm plus covering and features an anchoring fleece on the backside of the studded screed panel that bonds with a suitable weight-bearing substrate. The heating pipes in this case have a diameter of 10 mm.

Additionally, the company from Iserlohn will introduce a unique advisement concept for the ceramic thermal comfort floor Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM with its BEKOTEC® CompetenceCenter. The shop-in-shop system will be set up in tile and construction material stores and will serve as an advisement center for energy-efficient and healthy living with ceramic tiles. The CompetenceCenter provides developers and homeowners with guidance on energy-efficient construction, while offering unique opportunities for retailers to advise customers in tile departments before they have made a final decision on floor coverings. The CompetenceCenter will have built-in, functional ceramic thermal comfort floors so that product advisors can demonstrate the innovative system and all of its components "live" on site.
