The variable systems of the KERDI-LINE program are perfect for a wide range of individual floor-level shower designs.

Floor-level showers: Heavenly comfort

The demand for barrier-free bathrooms continues to grow as comfortable access to showers is appealing to homeowners of all generations. At Cersaie, Schlüter-Systems presents innovative system solutions for creating functional and aesthetic individual bathroom designs with ceramic tiles or natural stone pavers. This year’s exhibit of the Iserlohn-based company includes a frameless covering support specifically designed for showers made from natural stone and further intelligent additions to the existing program.

Schlüter-Systems offers a complete assortment for floor-level showers under the name of Schlüter-KERDI-SHOWER with the central point and linear drainage KERDI-LINE. This year, the company is introducing KERDI-LINE-D, a frameless covering support specifically designed for showers made from natural stone, which can of course also be combined with tiles. All variants of the series are user-friendly products for the simple and reliable installation of floor-level showers.

The offer consists of three different component areas:

  • Linear drainage and various cover options for drainage installations near walls and in the center of shower assemblies: Schlüter-KERDI-LINE,
  • Sloped trays with optional, matching leveling boards: Schlüter-KERDI-SHOWER-L
  • Tapered profiles and wall connection profiles: Schlüter®-SHOWERPROFILE.

The deep-drawn Schlüter-KERDI-LINE channel bodies of solid, 1.5 mm stainless steel are available in eight lengths from 50 to 120 cm and in the versions KERDI-LINE-H and KERDI-LINE-V. Schlüter-KERDI-LINE-H with horizontal drain for installation on the floor level now not only is available in the assembly height 97 mm, but also with an installation height of 78 mm with the new version KERDI-LINE-H 40. This makes the system an ideal solution for most projects. Schlüter-KERDI-LINE-V with vertical drain for installation through the floor level is ideal for renovation projects and has an assembly height of just 24 mm. Effective immediately the vertical solution is also available in a version with integrated odor trap.

Both the horizontal or vertical linear drainage versions are designed for variable installation in wall and floor areas. The deep-drawn prefabricated parts Schlüter-KERDI-KERS were newly added to the program for secure waterproofing of corner parts in floor-level showers. Furthermore, a collar made of Schlüter-KERDI, which is pre-attached to the adhesive flange on all sides of the channel body, guarantees the reliable connection of the channel body to the bonded waterproofing assembly in the floor area and at the upright walls. The channels are embedded in a sturdy channel support made of polystyrene, which makes them easy to install. Schlüter-KERDI-LINE-H has a drainage capacity of 0.6 l/sec, while Schlüter-KERDI-LINE-V reaches drainage capacities over 1.0 l/sec.

Covers for the drainage channel are available in eight lengths:

A) Closed, stainless steel with lateral drainage slits,

B) Drainage screen with square perforations,

C) U-shaped pan for installation of covering material,

D) New: Frameless covering support Schlüter-KERDI-LINE-D.

The stainless steel frame for the three designer covers (A, B, C) in elegant QUADEC design allow for seamless height adjustment to tile thicknesses from 3 to 25 mm. The new solution KERDI-LINE-D does not require a frame and is suitable for all covering thicknesses without restriction.

To make the installation as reliable and quick as possible, all varieties of the line drainage come with matching Schlüter-KERDISHOWER sloped trays and leveling boards. These parts ensure proper height adjustment and provide the necessary slope (2%) for the assembly. The sloped tray is coated with Schlüter-KERDI. Together with the Schlüter-KERDI waterproofing component, this meets the requirements of the German Certificate of National Technical Approval (abP) for waterproofing assemblies. Smaller dimensions can easily be cut to size with a utility knife.

The innovative tapered profile Schlüter-SHOWERPROFILE-S is made of brushed stainless steel and also offers installers an option for quickly and elegantly covering the lateral transitions of floor-level showers. The two-piece profile Schlüter-SHOWERPROFILE-R of brushed stainless steel for wall connection in the back area of the shower rounds off the program.
