Electrical floor heating

New: Schlüter®-DITRA-HEAT-E

Electrical floor heating used to be associated with prefabricated heating mats, but the innovative development of Schlüter®-DITRA-HEAT-E breaks the mold, upholding the reputation of Schlüter-Systems as a forward-thinking company. The new system – exhibited for the first time in Munich – not only heats targeted floor areas quickly and individually, but also uncouples the covering from direct contact with the substrate.

In the new Schlüter®-DITRA-HEAT-E system, heating cables are installed within the uncoupling mat. Thanks to the patented DITRA technology, the new system for electrical floor heating can also be used on problematic substrates such as wooden beam structures, green screeds, or cracked subfloors without any risk of damage to the tile covering or the heating cables. Furthermore, the assembly prevents damage to the covering based on fast temperature fluctuations.

The gentle radiated heat creates a pleasant living environment, in which a comfortable temperature can be easily and precisely adjusted, thanks to the temperature sensor integrated into the floor and the digital floor temperature controls. In contrast to conventional systems with pre-adhered heating mats, heating cables are individually installed in the stud pattern of the uncoupling mat, which allows for individual temperature settings in different heating zones.

Due to its low assembly height of approximately 8 mm (uncoupling mat plus heating cable 5.5 mm), Schlüter®-DITRA-HEAT-E is easy to install in existing structures, making the assembly ideally suited for restoration and renovation projects. Because the heating cables are embedded directly in the uncoupling membrane, they are located immediately underneath the tiles, ensuring quick and efficient heat distribution. In addition, it is no longer necessary to trowel over and then uncouple the heated areas as in the case of conventional heating mats.

As an added advantage, the electrical floor heating system is highly durable, virtually maintenance-free, and cost-effective to purchase and install. Due to the low auxiliary costs, Schlüter®-DITRA-HEAT-E is an economic solution for creating cozy, comfortable floors. However, higher operating costs make the electrical floor heating system less suitable for heating large spaces. In those cases, heating with the ceramic thermal comfort floor Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM is recommended.
