Material
Schlüter®-DILEX-AHK/-AHKA are made of aluminium with different finishes.
Schlüter®-DILEX-AHK:
AE = Anodised aluminium
ACB = Polished chrome anod. aluminium
ACGB = Brushed chrome anod. Aluminium
TS = Aluminium, textured coating
Material properties and areas of application:
The suitability of Schlüter®-DILEX-AHK/- AHKA must be verified based on the anticipated chemical stresses. Cementitious materials, in conjunction with moisture, become alkaline. Since aluminium is sensitive to alkaline substances, exposure to the alkali (depending on the concentration and duration of exposure) may result in corrosion (aluminium hydroxide formation). For this reason, remove mortar or grouting material immediately from all visible areas and do not cover freshly installed coverings with foil.
Finishes that have been coated with an anodised layer will not show any further changes during normal use. They should be protected against abrasion.
Schlüter®-DILEX-AHK-TS (aluminium with textured coating) is a finish with a natural character.
The coating is colour-stable, as well as UVand weather-resistant. Visible edges should also be protected against abrasion.
The profiles must be solidly embedded in the tile setting material to prevent alkaline water from accumulating in small cavities.
