Essential protection was needed to safeguard the long-term integrity of 850 metres of flooring in the main thoroughfare at Derby University's new Art, Design and Technology block. A total of 130 linear metres of Schlüter-DILEX-AKSN movement joint profiles created separate tile fields, which move independently of each other, preventing the tiles from cracking or debonding from the anhydrite screed. And to protect the edge of the tiles where they met the neighbouring carpet and vinyl flooring surfaces of the same height, the Schlüter-SCHIENE transition profile was specified.
